Creating Custom Filter Via Shopify Metafields
You can construct custom filters in the same manner that you can create product variants by creating metafields for both the product and the variant. When adding a custom filter metafield, make sure the content type is one of the following:- A single line of text
- Integer or decimal number
- Go to Settings > Metafields in the Shopify shop administrator.
- The metafield type you want to create should be chosen. Think of Products.
- From the menu, choose Add definition.
- In the Name field, enter a name for your definition, such as “Age Group.”
- Next, provide a description to your metafield values (optional).
- Pick the content type by clicking Select content type (Text or Number),
- If the content type is Text, select “Single line text.” The Number content type should be decimol or integer.
- Configure the Additional rules in the Validation section to limit the allowable value range.
- Restore the changes.
- In the Shopify store admin, go to Products > All Products.
